Study Spanish in Granada and Managua Nicaragua

Two of Nicaragua’s best Spanish schools have launched the
“Spanish Immersion Tour of Nicaragua”.

You will study Spanish in Central America’s safest country for two weeks while meeting some great people and seeing the best that Central America has to offer.

A little about Nicaragua…Most people know little about Nicaragua. They remember the 1980’s when this country was embroiled in a low-scale civil war that pitted the Sandinista movement (considered communist at that time) against the Contras (backed by the USA). However, since an election in 1990 after which the country became completely democratic, Nicaragua has thrived. While still one of the poorest countries in the western hemisphere, Nicaragua has made great strides, and as mentioned above, it has the lowest crime rate in all of Central America (including Costa Rica). It is rich with Volcanoes, lakes, and some of the nicest people that you will ever meet. It currently has a democratically elected government and it is considered a stable democracy. Nicaraguans do however enjoy their freedom of expression and everybody holds their strong political views here.

OK…about the program…(Optional to do your first week in Granada or Managua) First, we will pick you up at the airport (all included in the package price) and bring you to your homestay in Granada. You will study one week there and then transfer to the capitol city of Managua for the second week. You can also schedule more weeks, and we also have alliances with other schools in other cities throughout Nicaragua if you should decide you want to see even more!

Our program allows you to spend one week in the colonial city of Granada studying Spanish every morning at Ave Nicaraguita Spanish School, participating in all the activities that Granada has to offer in the afternoons, and getting complete Spanish immersion through your experience here. You will stay with a local Nicaraguan family, eating meals with them and sharing evenings together while studying during the day. The school sponsors daily activities that are all included in the price of the package.

Your second week, you will transfer to the capitol city of Managua where you will study for one week at Viva Spanish School, located in the heart of the capitol. There again, you will stay with a local family, living like a typical Nicaraguan (if there is such a thing). At Viva Spanish, you will take classes each morning and in the afternoons you will go out on various activities (again, all included in the package).

You will receive at least 20 hours each week of study of grammer and conversation. The program has been designed in such a way that the switch from one school to the next will not interrupt your process, but is designed to enhance it. You will tune your ear into various accents and ways of speaking so that you will come away from your experience here with a much more fluid understanding and speaking of the language. You can start the program any Monday of the year, with the exception of Christmas and New Years.
